Recent hearings and court ruling
Today, October 17, the judge issued a ruling placing Konstantin Rudnev, who is nearly 60 years old and has serious health problems, under house arrest. His wife reported that, although the prosecution will appeal the decision, the judge determined that his life is at risk and that he cannot remain in prison. Rudnev will now remain under house arrest, monitored by an electronic bracelet, which will allow him to receive adequate medical attention and family care.

His wife described his condition as critical: weakened, emaciated, and having difficulty eating due to prison conditions. She pointed out the urgent need for specialized medical treatment that he can only receive at home, where he can be close to his family and have contact with doctors who can truly improve his health.
Public support and call for solidarity
Rudnev's wife appealed to the international and local community for prayers, support, and publicity to ensure that the resolution is upheld. She stressed the importance of prosecutors and authorities, including federal prosecutor Fernando Arrigo, acting with compassion and allowing Rudnev to remain at home while the legal process unfolds.
Crucial statement by Elena Makarova
In relation to allegations of human trafficking, Elena Makarova, identified by some media outlets as an alleged victim, stated on her blog that she is not a victim of Rudnev or of any trafficking crime, and that she is unaware of the acts attributed to her. This confirms that Rudnev has no connection whatsoever with the charges against him.
